God’s Special Possession

1 Peter 2:9 Bible verse about God's love for His good and faithful servant. Christian Blogs written by a Christian Apparel company

Consider what it means that the Creator of all things, the One who names every star and owns every inch of the universe, looks at you and says, “You are my special possession.” How marvelous is that?!

Humans are fickle. Our emotions waiver and we can go one moment incredibly passionate about something or someone and then be completely indifferent the next. But “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind.”[1] When He looks at you and says, “you are My special possession,” He doesn’t plan on changing His mind.

In the low points of life when you might be tempted to think of your life as inconsequential or insignificant, pause for a moment and think, “there’s no way. I am God’s special possession.”

That’s powerful y’all. That’s a reality. That’s truth. That’s the Gospel! Jesus Himself told us that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son so that whoever would believe in Him would not perish but have eternal life[2] Do you know how He defined eternal life?

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”[3]

Oh if only we could remember this throughout the highs and lows of life! Our Father in Heaven does not intend to abandon us. He does not intend to cause us harm or to cause unnecessary pain. He is not waiting to bring down the hammer of judgment upon us. Far from it!

He wants us to know that we are His special possession. He wants us to willingly sing His praises because we know how wonderful He is and how worthy He is of our love. “We love because He first loved us”![4]

Today, we exhort you to live in that reality. God is love and He has looked upon you with His great great love. You are His Good and Faithful because HE is the faithful One who is able to finish the work He started in You![5]

“Now to Him who is able to protect you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory, blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority before all time and now and forever. Amen.”[6]
