Don't Let Love Grow Cold
There is a very real danger for the Good and Faithful to grow weary of doing good and to allow that weariness to turn one’s heart cold towards others. Were it not the case, our Master would not have felt the need to warn against it (Matt 24:12-13).
But He exhorts His people to endure to the end. He tells us to not grow weary of doing and to take every opportunity to do good to everyone, especially to each other (Gal 6:9-10). With this exhortation, He also warns us to not forget our first love in the midst of our patient labor for His name’s sake (Rev 2:2-5)
Let us remember that as God’s Good and Faithful, all that we have is from Him and for Him, and we need not allow the bitterness of the world to taint our own hearts. Continue to come to Him daily, and regularly throughout your day for refreshment. And may we never forget that our labor is a labor of love.
